I think the service handbook suggest a couple of drops of oil every 1000 miles or so. This should lubricate the bearing and the advance mechanisms. It is a good idea to take it apart and put grease on the advance stop posts as they wear considerably and give you too much advance. variuos firms recondition them, but I have tensioned my own springs, added weld to the worn bits and set up the advance curves.
