Not sure about pre war set up but if you do not want to have it checked at your local tyre dealer then here is a DIY way. Find two lengths of something straight (wood, Dexion) about 2-3 metres long. Now somehow strap to the outside of both tyres with equal amounts pointing backwards and forwards. They will probably foul the body work so you need to space out equally. Use a plumb line at each end of the bars and marke the floor. Measure the distance between the track front and back. They should be equal for zero toe. Then you need to adjust until they are equal. Toe out would need a greater distance at the front. Toe in a smaller distance. 1/8" toe in would be about 1/2" with a 3 metre pole.
