I've just checked the piece of original floorboard that I have. The thickness of the plywood is 3/8" and the thickness of the hardwood strengthening pieces used for the seat mounts is 3/4". The floor attachment on my cars was by CSK machine screws (5/16" BSF?)into captive nuts on the frame. Yes, (shallow) cup washers were used. I used the captive nuts where possible, but where they were rusted or broken I removed the remains and used 1" x 1/4" UNC SS CSK head machine screws with locknuts and washers to replace them.
