Keith, Many thanks for info. The manual pump fills the two float chambers OK, then the car starts instantly, on choke, from cold. Obviously most of the cranking of old was just moving petrol up hill! I guess the fuel is evaporating, the gasket may be missing. Is it part of the carb and built in? Do the Spares peole hold these?
