Hilary and I have just returned from a very pleasant Sunday afternoon in Yorkshire. We had lunch at the Bankfield hotel near Bingley with another 14 couples from the Northern Section of the Club. The reason I'm writing this is that I understand that this hotel is the chosen venue for the 2006 National Rally - where we will celebrate the centenary of the first production Jowett. If the Sunday lunch carvery is anything to go by, then I think we will be very well-served in Yorkshire. The hotel is spacious with plenty of parking. The 3 course, (four choices for each course) lunch was £9.95 per person, and there was ample space and comfortable seating for a relaxed get-together after it. We ate at around 12.30pm and didn't leave until 4.30pm, and we were by no means the last to leave. I suggest you pencil-in the dates of the 2006 Rally in Yorkshire. Although we don't know the exact cost of the weekend yet, going off the value for money we both experienced today I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised. - but don't hold me to this!! I'm not in the inner sanctum of the organisation concerned with its organisation. Any road up, there's Basingstoke before this over the last weekend in May and we are both looking forward to re-newing aquaintances. Regards, Tony
