Much has been said about additives in the Jowetteer over the past few years. Have a look at the index and get back copies from the Shop. Personally- I do not think you need petrol additives, you do not need to convert heads until the seats are very worn or you intend to do 1000's of miles on Motorways, and you should put Moly disulphide or similar in box and diff. This certainly helps if you forget to top them up every 500 miles or less if you have a leaky box! Send your heads to one of the Jowett experts to have converted (Mike, Bill or Dennis); there is a lot that needs to be checked other than just installing inserts (cracks, waterways, bowing, guides). Take the opportunity to fit better valves (not two piece) and springs. Have the chambers flowed and balanced, the ports opened up and correctly flowed ( as per tuning guide)and you will get loads more BHP/torque and smoother idle. My legal adviser has said that I should say these are my own experiences and you need to make your own decisions and consultations and that neither myself nor the club should be held responsible if you choose to use this information. Just enjoy your Jowett, I have for 36 years.
