George Weaver's R1 was raced at Le Mans in 1951 and 1952 (did not finish either race), and in the Prix de Monte Carlo sports car race in 1952 where, in the hands of Marcel Becquart, it finished fourth.

Its win at Watkins Glen in the hands of the late George Weaver is easily its best result, and arguably the best result for an R1 in any race. George only raced it the once.

Sadly it was cut up in 1953 as were the other two R1s. As it happens one of the other R1s was put together again and exists to this day.
