Thanks Ian, I have been to Bob's this afternoon. He's coming modern - with power-steering- (and with Doris) to Basingstoke over the weekend, and the Javelin is as today still in his own garage. Quite surprised no-one has expressed any interest in it. Bob was in the Fleet Air Arm and is a real stickler for all things mechanical to be first class. If you had been in a Spitfire, or a Hurricane, you would expect it not to drop out of the sky. I suppose the next owner would rather pay the (legitimate) dealer's premium on top of the asking price.
