There are always tennis balls. Rally men often add lumps of rubber to cushion the blows! If you can find some adjustable shockers you can tune them to the weight of the car and spring rate of your springs, or to accomodate speed humps that I know you take at a great rate of knots due to lack of brakes on those old beasties.
