I think Horoace Grimley's mod was on those lines of returning to inlet at rear of heads but involve linking the two inlets with a cross pipe that included a T piece to connect the heater return. presumablly this was to keep the temperature the same in both heads. Still cant remember what happened at the thermostat end exept that the normal jowett type of thermostat had to be replaced with a 'normal' one with only one small beleed hole.
