Quite a lot has been said about cam design over the years in the Jowetteer. I hope one day to get the technical articles on-line. Eden Lindsay made a list of them all so I will ask him. Anyway Dennis Sparrow has successfully reprofiled some cams and others have had new stock made with different opening times and overlaps with a view to compensating for the higher revs we now seem to use, the higher compression and the different petrol burn rates. One thing that is important is the accelaration ramp which seems to be slightly different from normal on the Jowetts. Higher lift is usually what is sort after requiring stronger springs. Note the cam for hydraulic tappets was different.
